Sridhar Vembu
Zoho is one of the most-used business software companies in the world and one of the least discussed, which is precisely the point. Vembu built it without venture capital, without an IPO, and without moving to a technology capital. He runs significant parts of the operation from rural Tamil Nadu, hires and trains people who never attended university through the company’s own schools, and has consistently refused the growth-at-any-cost model that defines his sector. He is here because almost nobody else at his scale has been willing to prove it.

A design tool for people who cannot design — small businesses, teachers, non-profits, anyone previously priced out of professional software.
Bootstrapped India’s largest retail brokerage without advertising, and has been unusually vocal in warning his own customers away from over-trading.
Built the Gulf’s first genuine technology exit, and with it the region’s first large cohort of operators who had done it before.
